In this blog post, you will discover some of British Columbia's most stunning landscapes as we explore five magnificent hiking destinations. The exploration of British Columbia's mountains never ends, but I've compiled a short list, including my favorite spots to hike. I hope you find this information helpful for your next adventure.

Panaroma Ridge, Garibaldi

Panorama Ridge offers a breathtaking, panoramic view of Garibaldi Lake, Black Tusk, and Taylor Meadows. The views at the peak are some of the most stunning in the Garibaldi Provincial Park area.

Considered a challenging hike, Panorama Ridge ranks among the popular trails in British Columbia, where you will encounter many people along the way. The best times to visit Panorama Ridge are from June through October. It's a well-marked trail, 28.3km long round trip, ideal for backpacking, camping, hiking, and wildlife watching.

Many people choose to camp at Garibaldi Lake or Taylor Meadows and complete the hike the next day due to its considerable length. Plan ahead and reserve your spot to ensure a smooth adventure on Panorama Ridge.

Iceberg lake via 19 mile creek trail

Iceberg Lake via the 19 Mile Creek Trail is a truly stunning and rewarding experience. The trail guides you through enchanting forests, stony path and expansive alpine mountains. Along the way, you'll encounter waterfalls, scenic viewpoints, and breathtaking view.

Hiking to Iceberg Lake via the 19 Mile Creek Trail in British Columbia is a challenging yet rewarding experience. The trail is approximately 23 km back and forth. The difficulty level is considered challenging due to the steep elevation gain and rugged terrain. However, it is worth all the challenges to get to the top.

Wedgemount lake

Wedgemount Lake offers a journey through lush forests, rocky terrains, and alpine meadows. You will be greeted by breathtaking views of glacial-fed turquoise waters and Wedge Mountain.

This challenging hike is approximately 14 km round trip. The difficulty of the hike is considered hard, as it involves steep ascents.

For an amazing experience, you can camp by the lake, waking up to the fresh mountain air and the serene beauty of Wedgemount. It’s a perfect spot for reflection with nature. Visit from June to September, and make sure that you’re well-prepared with proper hiking gear. If camping, secure a reservation in advance.

Joffree lakes

Of course, Joffre Lakes never gets old. This hike is one of the most popular ones in British Columbia, taking everyone's breath away with its three stunning turquoise lakes and pristine alpine landscapes. It's an iconic hike to do when visiting BC.

The trail is about 10 km round trip and is considered moderately difficult. The difficulty can vary depending on your hiking experience and fitness level.

The path involves some elevation gain, rocky sections, and a steep climb towards the upper lake. On average, it takes around 4 to 6 hours to complete the hike, including time spent enjoying the lakes and the scenery. The effort is definitely worth it for the breathtaking views.

Mount Chief

The Stawamus Chief is a classic adventure, guiding hikers up a challenging trail to one of its three majestic peaks. Expect to encounter a lot of people on the trail, as it is a popular and busy hike located in Squamish. It offers a stunning panorama of Squamish's expanse, including Howe Sound and the northern reaches of Garibaldi Provincial Park. Imagine standing at the summit, breathing in the mountain air, surrounded by a magnificent 360-degree scenery.

The initial summit entails a 4km journey from the Chief parking lot, typically taking around 3 to 4 hours for the average group. The Second Peak extends the hike to 5km, requiring 4 to 5 hours for the majority of groups. As for the Third Peak, it involves a 7km hike and takes about 5 to 7 hours.
