Spending time in nature soothes you!

The feeling of being at home encompasses trust, peace, and a sense of belonging. Home is where you are comfortable, loved unconditionally, accepted as you are and guided when you need it. When I am in nature, I recognize all these as being innate. Every place on earth feels different with its weather, architecture, tradition, and culture, but nature feels soothing everywhere.

I walk into the magnificent forest on the mountain. This forest is full of tall, ancient trees. Walking between old and wise trees, I feel the connection between the other trees on earth, knowing that their roots merge underneath everything we see on the surface. Birds sing to touch the heart, inviting joy into the space. I keep walking to see and feel these fascinating old trees all around me, welcoming me by spreading their wise knowledge in the space.

As I walk along, I hear a soothing sound of a waterfall in the distance. It seems to be coming from far away, but my ears are able to locate it. I close my eyes and head towards the sound. While walking, I spot a brown, long-tailed, fluffy squirrel climbing up a tree with a nut in her mouth. As soon as she sees me, she quickly scampers back up the tree to hide from view. However, shortly after she re-appears, making funny noises and displaying a playful attitude. Seeing her cheerful behavior brings a big smile to my face.

I continue following the sound of the waterfall. As I get closer and closer, the space I am in changes; I walk into its vortex. Now, there is only this breathing waterfall right in front of me.

I am amazed at my senses being so open all at once. There is a gorgeous rock that looks very tempting to chill on after a long walk. My body feels the coolness of the water just by sitting beside it. I want to touch the water and drink it. I lean down to taste the naturally running water. I take a sip from the waterfall. It's frozen cold and feels refreshing as it goes down my throat. It's delicious beyond words. It has a very pure taste that almost makes you feel full. I lean down to take more with my hand. My hands are frozen now. Still, it is sweet. I take a deep breath and face the sunlight hidden by the large trees to warm up a little. I close my eyes momentarily, feeling my body light like a bird. This is where everything should be one, not separated from me. I take another deep breath and feel my body be whole with the space around me. Every sound I hear is synchronized with my breath. I linger in this place for a while. Yes! I'm experiencing nirvana…

I open my eyes to the sound of footsteps getting closer to where I am. I look around, but there is no one around. I start heading back, full of peace and love. I hear footsteps getting closer to me again. This time, I see two people walking. I told them about the waterfall I found. We talk a little bit, and I head back to where I started.
